You've got a voice, kid! Use it!
Founded in 2017, Connectopod has worked with youth across Los Angeles to tell nuanced stories one neighborhood at a time.

Who We Are
A non profit co-founded in 2017 by Andrea Lopez and Betsy Foldes Meiman, Connectopod promotes a joyful, collaborative environment for youth development, creating podcasts and videos, gaining valuable skills and mentorship from media professionals while building job-ready portfolios. Our programs enhance confidence and self-esteem as young people explore their talents and express their passions.
Our Mission
The mission of Connectopod is to collaborate with youth to express themselves through the creation of podcasts and other public media. They find their voice, transcend barriers, and transform ideas into tangible skills and works.
What We Do
We bring our mobile studio to your organization to teach media arts skills in a unique learning lab. This hands-on experience means students get to try the new skills on the day they learn the skill. Recording, editing, and sound design are taught alongside brainstorming, interview techniques, and research.
We foster an environment where students produce a finished, public media art project at the end of their time with us.
Our program compliments the organization's curriculum that is already in place, or we can bring Connectopod's curriculum for organizations looking for new approaches.
Many of our participants become Mentors, and are offered internships to teach Connectopod particpants. Mentors can also take advantage of our professional network for experience in the media arts fields.
